In June 2007, Saint Paul’s United Church will celebrate 83 years of community service in the Lakeshore.
Saint Paul’s echo’s with children’s laughter, joyous and upbeat music, relevant sermons, meditative prayers and homey hospitality.
Our building is wheelchair accessible and our worship style is informal, inclusive and intergenerational. We celebrate God’s presence enthusiastically throughout the seasons of the church calendar.
The Saint Paul’s congregation is outgoing and reflects those factors that make the Lakeshore a great place for all ages to live. Our members are involved in many community causes and activities. Some of our current sponsorship activities include:
- Hosting of the Sherway Academy of Music as budding local musicians are nurtured
- Advocating for a sustainable environment especially along the waterfront
- Convening ‘town hall meetings’ and other special interest and fun discussions in forums we call “VERRRY Interesting”
- Providing space to the Mother Goose program
- Offering an adult Pilates program and a weekly afternoon drop-in for senior adults
- Active members of the Lakeshore Community Partnership are active in the activities of the Lakeshore Ministerial Association
- Supporting the new Etobicoke South Community Choir
- Providing a gathering place for Brownies and Sparks
- Helping neighbours in distress with counseling
- Assisting with Out of the Cold at St. Margaret’s
- Providing food bank donations to the Salvation Army
- Supporting efforts to provide affordable housing in Long Branch
